New publication focuses on women in Iowa

CATEGORIES: March 2014, Voices

Lift IOWA – a new free online publication focusing on women and leadership – will debut on March 24.

The weekly e-newsletter is being published by the Business Record, which is headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. The purpose of the publication is to “connect, empower and inform leaders throughout the state about the challenges and opportunities facing female business leaders,” said Janette Larkin, publisher of the Business Record.

Lift – which stands for Leading Insights on Female Talent – IOWA will “keep readers informed on self-development opportunities and special events and connect them with Iowa women they should know,” Larkin said. “It will provide news and commentary on how Iowa is moving the needle to increase women business ownership and involvement in politics and government. And, it will elevate the importance of empowering more women to become involved on boards and in leadership roles in companies and communities throughout Iowa.”

In promoting the new publication, the Business Record is partnering with various women’s leadership organizations throughout the state – including the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics – to reach female leaders across Iowa.

“We believe some people who are receiving our bimonthly Voices e-newsletter will also be interested in this new publication focusing on women’s leadership in Iowa,” said Dianne Bystrom, Catt Center director. “Although Lift IOWA won’t officially launch until March 24, it’s not too early to sign up.”
